Good Omens inspired fan art of an Atlantisan/Atlantean mentioned by The Them, presumably old men with long white beards swimming around in long flowing mystical robes, and fish bowls over their heads.
I love literature.

Week 13 04/25/10 - 05/01/10 and 14 05/02/10 - 05/08/10
This is a work in progress and I'm not posting the entire thing until it is finished. But for the sake of keeping up this blog (which I suspect has the sole purpose of keeping track of my inability to stick to any given deadline and/or commitment) I will post snippets of what I have been working on, as proof that I have been working on something.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "That doesn't look like anything... what the hell"
Precisely why I'm not posting the entire thing yet, cause right now, it isn't anything but a bunch of measurements and lines that will eventually resemble something. I hope.

Week 11 and 12 - Lets just assume I'm always going to be late.
The first picture was me desperately trying to decide what to draw. For inspiration, I opened up a newspaper hoping to find some profound, soul-deep revelations to stir my inner artist. What I found was the president looking stoned, an advertisement for a tv show about a catering company, and a story about a woman who had hoarded cats in her house. Then I gave up and drew my shoe laces.
The second picture was from today, when I was reading The Hobbit, and the IMDB Trivia section for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. And I couldn't stop myself. And it does count as drawing, cause that shit is hard to write without a calligraphy pen so shut up.

Week 10 - 04/04/10 to 04/10/10 LATEY mcLATE
I Love David Tennant. He was, and always will be MY Doctor. I used a reference of course, and the signature I found online and pasted it in. Nose is a bit wonky, but I don't care, I think it's a damn good likeness, probably the best and closest to the real thing I've ever done.
So suck it.

Week 9 - 03/28/10 to 04/03/10
I have been reading Sherlock Holmes novels and stories. Yesterday I read most of Hound of the Baskervilles (I still have about 30 pages left of it) and I was struck by how much Watson describes the moors. I admit I first had to look up exactly what a moor was, and discovered it's just a large expanse of uncultivated wasteland, usually dotted with bogs, and covered in a layer of heather. Exactly as Watson had described.
I drew several pictures of what I thought a moor would look like, none of which came especially close to the description of the Baskerville moor, but this was my favorite.
It's funny because this was the first attempt, and done with a bic pen no less.
And in case it isn't immediately apparent, that is not a river, but a road.
I think I will attempt a digital version of the moors.

Week 8 - 03/21/10 to 03/27/10
Cuppa Rain. I was inspired by an amazing artist who found a way to make something so mundane, and so overlooked into beautiful works of art. I want to be him O.O

Week 7 - 03/14/10 to 03/20/10 -- Late Again, bite me.
The Flamingo was not originally drawn in that week, but I added to it, most of what you see on the bottom of the picture.
A cup of coffee one morning, as I was waiting for my shift to end.
And I wanted to try drawing that eye from before in pencil and pen. It's much harder.

Week 6 - 03/07/10 to 03/13/10 -- Late! oh well....
The Schaffers are a really nice couple I met at work, they're from New York and we got along famously. I drew them one morning while they were having breakfast.
That's it.. that's all I have for week 6.....

Week 5 - 02/28/10 to 03/06/10
Studying nudies. Found these random models on flickr after about an hour of scrolling through a million images, and using various combinations of tags like "models" "nude models" "artists models" "art study" "model studies" etc etc etc. Ridiculously hard to find just some good quality plain nude models online, and far too many porn stars out there.

Week 4 02/21/10 - 02/27/10
Some people would have me believe I'm doing well enough on my own. But I knew better. Just an hour watching videos on The Basics, and I managed a pretty decent eye. So pffffft!

Week 3 02/14/10 - 02/20/10 - LATE :(
But better late than never.
First up, another Howl drawing, this time it's Sophie with her hats, still not quite over that book yet.
Then a cat I drew which was inspired by a dream I had in which I held the strangely re-animated skin of my missing cat ender. It was a sad dream that made me cry, but my sister was completely creeped out by the Reanimated Empty Cat as we decided to call it.

Week 2 Cont....
What a prolific week.
I was watching Roseanne, cause that show kicks every other family sitcom show's ass without even trying, and I was struck suddenly by how great looking the character Mark is. I can't ever get over the fact that he played trailer trash on the show, but I swear if someone had cast him in an Elizabethan era film... well it would have worked. It made me curious where the man's career went after the show. And I learned that he had died in 2002 of a heroin overdose.
I decided to try my hand at drawing him, using a reference of course.

Week 2 Cont...
I have been reading Howl's Moving Castle, and it's been on my mind a lot lately, so I drew this. In the book, Howl's Castle is described as very tall, very thin, and very black. Quite a difference between the description and what we see in the movie version, I decided to try and draw it according to the description. Including the 4 turrets.
